In the community of the Magdelen Islands, Quebec, the 4th annual “Rendez-vous loup marin”, a seal celebration, was held recently. The presence and the participation of guests Ms. Aaju Peter and CSA president Mr. Eldred Woodford showed the importance of standing shoulder to shoulder in support of the seal hunt.
The annual Seal Awards night, the highlight of the whole event, underlined the great work done by Mr. Jean-Claude Lapierre and Mr. Ghislain Cyr, two skilled and experienced seal hunters and activists. This annual reunion is important for the community because it’s a great opportunity to teach the generation to come about sealing, but most all, the Seal Celebration is there to promote the sealer profession locally and across borders.
