Bernie Halloran, a local furrier who owns Always in Vogue in St. John’s, has big hopes for breaking into the Chinese markets with seal products, namely seal furs and pelts with the opening of this province’s second seal pelt processing plant. The location has not being determined yet.
Mr. Halloran says in an interview with the CBC radio program The Fisheries Broadcast that despite the propaganda spread by the animal rights groups, the demand for such quality products from here is growing in China and other parts of Asia. Mr. Halloran says he will also open a store in China to promote his products.
