The Canadian Sealers Association is very sorry to hear of the passing of a great friend and fighter for our industry and heritage Bernie Halloran. He was 67. Bernie owned the very popular seal fur and sealskin boutique Always in Vogue on Water Street in St. John’s. Bernie never backed down from any of the seal protesters  and propaganda thrown our way.

Former Newfoundland and Labrador premier Danny Williams, a close friend of Halloran’s, said in a statement today:

“Bernie’s enduring gift to this world was his kindness. He loved his province, his loved his friends, he loved his community and most of all he adored his family. Bernie Halloran was one of my best friends and he will be missed forever, and remembered every day,” Williams wrote in a statement.

We here at the CSA will always remember Bernie’s legacy and we send our deepest sympathies to his family and friends.
