December 6, 2013,  St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador:   –    Provincial and federal government representatives arrived in St. John’s to make an important  announcement today regarding funding for the development of seal meat products from the Newfoundland and Labrador seal industry.

The event was held at at Natural Boutique on Water Street St. John’s. Federal Fisheries Minister Gail Shea was in attendance as was provincial Fisheries Minister Keith Hutchings and representatives from the Atlantic Seal Development Association, The Canadian Sealers Association and other industry members. Baie Verte-Springdale MHA Kevin Pollard also attended the funding announcement.
